US BCSD members and select guests are invited to join us on September 21, 2020 for our Fall Council Meeting. Given travel complications due to COVID-19, US BCSD staff will facilitate this online meeting using Zoom Video Conferencing to better accommodate participants and keep everyone healthy. 2019-2020 has been a breakout period for the US BCSD in many ways:
The Materials Marketplace network in the US grew to over 2,200 businesses and organizations and helped open new end markets for over 6 million pounds of material.
The US BCSD launched the Gulf Coast Carbon Collaborative with Entergy, CenterPoint, Dow Chemical, Bank of America, NRG, Shell and others to harness the collective energy and motivation of businesses in the Gulf Coast to create measurable, long-term impact in reducing carbon emissions in the region.
We also facilitated a first-of-its-kind workshop in the Great Lakes region to share and scale strategies to increase availability and drive greater use of post-industrial and post-consumer materials in the region’s manufacturing sector.
Now, more than ever, US BCSD members and project participants are facing unprecedented challenges with continuing to drive progress on aggressive sustainability agendas while adapting to unexpected changes to how and where we do business. In these challenging times the value of collaborative projects, platforms and partnerships can’t be overstated - and we’re here to help make that happen.
Draft Agenda
The online meeting will include presentations, facilitated discussion and working group breakout sessions focusing on near-term opportunities for your company to engage in existing US BCSD programs, gauging interest and group consensus on scaling US BCSD programs to new regional geographies in the US, and areas of new project development of interest to US BCSD members.
Introductions and Brief Project Update Presentations
Brief presentations on US BCSD and member-led projects will showcase some of the programming, resources and project concepts available within the US BCSD and its member organizations, and will be used to set the stage for continuing conversations in the 2nd half of the meeting.
Breakout Sessions - US BCSD Programs
Presenters and US BCSD facilitators will join participants in Zoom breakout rooms for guided discussions, giving participants the opportunity to dive deeper and explore ways to engage in existing US BCSD programs. These conversations will set the stage for future participation, where timelines, next steps, and commitments will be determined in the months ahead.
Breakout Sessions - New Project Development
A second set of facilitated breakout sessions will focus on opportunities for new collaborative project development, focused on Circular Economy, Carbon, Water, Ecosystems or new partnership development. We’ll harvest ideas from this round of breakouts and carefully track interest from attendees for follow-up.
Report Out
The full group will reconvene to report out on findings and insights from the earlier sessions as well as determine expectations for engagement going forward.
Attendance is limited to current US BCSD members and invited guests. Please fill out this short form below to request an invitation to the event. Someone from our team will be in touch shortly after.
