Businesses and organizations throughout Michigan and the Great Lakes region - especially in the manufacturing sector - have shown growing demand for post-industrial and post-consumer supply chain inputs. This hunger is driving significant economic and environmental growth in the region, but is also unearthing a variety of challenges and barriers to uptake and execution.
This workshop will bring together key stakeholders in the Great Lakes region to:
Understand the demand from manufacturing sectors for post-industrial and post-consumer supply chain inputs
Explore barriers and challenges to finding materials that meet specifications and are available in the right quantities
Identify barriers in manufacturing processes, logistics, and the nature of business relationships between recyclers and manufacturers
Create new linkages between companies, and look for ongoing ways that we can continue to support the effort
Create a regional workshop model for replication in regions throughout the Great Lakes
